A New Sharpness Measure Based on Gaussian Lines and Edges
نویسندگان
چکیده
We measure the sharpness of natural (complex) images using Gaussian models. We first locate lines and edges in the image. We apply Gaussian derivatives at different scales to the lines and edges. This yields a response function, to which we can fit the response function of model lines and edges. We can thus estimate the width and amplitude of the line or edge. As measure of the sharpness we propose the 5 percentile of the sigmas or the number of line/edge pixels with a sigma smaller than 1.

A Survey on Efficient No-reference Blur Estimation Methods
Blur estimation in image processing has come to be of great importance in assessing the quality of images. This work presents a survey of no-reference blur estimation methods. A no-reference method is particularly useful, when the input image used for blur estimation does not have an available corresponding reference image. This paper provides a comparison of the methodologies of four no-refere...
متن کاملBlind Deconvolution and Deblurring in Image Analysis
Blind deconvolution problems arise in image analysis when both the extent of image blur, and the true image, are unknown. If a model is available for at least one of these quantities then, in theory, the problem is solvable. It is generally not solvable if neither the image nor the point-spread function, which controls the extent of blur, is known parametrically. In this paper we develop method...
متن کاملS3: A Spectral and Spatial Measure of Local Perceived Sharpness in Natural Images
This paper presents an algorithm designed to measure the local perceived sharpness in an image. Our method utilizes both spectral and spatial properties of the image: For each block, we measure the slope of the magnitude spectrum and the total spatial variation. These measures are then adjusted to account for visual perception, and then, the adjusted measures are combined via a weighted geometr...

Data mining, also known as knowledge discovery in database, is the process to discover unknown knowledge from a large amount of data. Text mining is to apply data mining techniques to extract knowledge from unstructured text. Text clustering is one of important techniques of text mining, which is the unsupervised classification of similar documents into different groups. The most important step...
متن کاملOn-board Image Quality Assessment for a Satellite
An image captured by a sensor is not an exact reproduction of the scene viewed. If a point of light is viewed, the optical system will blur or spread the light to some degree, characterised by the point spread function (PSF). In the mathematical model of the imaging system, the PSF is a weighting function for spatial convolution [94, pp. 7891]. It can be considered as the spatial responsiveness...
